McClure Engineering Rides for a World Without MS

Participating in Bike MS year after year is about more than the miles. It’s about showing up, supporting a meaningful cause, and riding alongside a community united in the fight to end multiple sclerosis.

McClure Engineering was proud to once again take part in Bike MS: Gateway Getaway, joining cyclists from across the region to raise funds and awareness for multiple sclerosis research through the National MS Society.

This year, our team logged an impressive 200 miles over two days of riding while continuing our tradition of supporting a cause that impacts millions of people worldwide.

On Saturday, September 26, Tara, Bryan, Luke, Ryan, and Pat completed the full 100-mile route. After a long day in the saddle, the team celebrated with dinner alongside Principal Darren Dinkelman and his wife, who were there to cheer them on and support the riders throughout the event.

The challenge continued on Sunday, September 27, as Tara, Bryan, Ryan, and Pat set out to conquer another 100 miles. The day brought an unexpected obstacle when, at mile 45, Tara’s rear derailleur cable snapped. Unfortunately, the mechanical issue couldn’t be repaired on the course, ending her ride early. While Tara made the trip back to the starting point, the rest of the team carried on to finish the route, reuniting at the finish line after another successful day of riding. As for the tears shed along the way? Rumor has it they came mostly from Pat, who still had 55 miles left to pedal.

Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, friends, family members, and community supporters, our team has raised more than $12,600 toward our $13,000 fundraising goal. We’re incredibly close to the finish line and grateful for every contribution that helps fuel critical MS research, support programs, and advocacy efforts.

Since 2010, McClure Engineering’s Bike MS team has ridden more than 13,000 miles and raised over $80,000 for the National MS Society. Those numbers represent years of dedication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to making a difference.
