Amelia Truong is an Electrical Engineer who joined McClure Engineering in July of 2025 and right away revealed why she was a perfect fit. As a member of our Electrical Team, she loves that she has unlimited opportunities to learn and grow at McClure Engineering through different types of projects in our healthcare, educational, and critical facilities sectors.

Fresh from graduating from the University of Missouri – Columbia, Amelia had her pick of places to go but McClure Engineering stood out for two reasons; As a young graduate she appreciated our inclusive environment which was highlighted by meeting two of our outstanding female engineers, Shannon Fisher and Julianne Wegmann, at a career fair and secondly, she just dug the vibe of our cool office building. One can’t blame her – the historic Cupples One building, a former warehouse and part of a larger historic district in Downtown St. Louis, has plenty to offer including a penthouse perfect for viewing 4^th of July fireworks and expanded employee fitness facilities, a favorite of Amelia’s since she is usually there during lunch hour with the women’s workout group getting pumped up for the afternoon. It also helps that it is a stones throw from great eateries located in Ballpark Village.

Since starting, it really has been our award-winning culture that has grabbed Amelia’s attention. She has certainly become a major part of what makes this company so fun to work for, taking part and spearheading so many of our culture initiatives. In no time at all she was part of the committee that hosts our beloved Popcorn Wednesdays, enticing employees to take a break and indulge in some buttery goodness with her creative email missives. She was being playful (and a bit scary) in a divine monochromatic clown ensemble for our Fall Fest. And in March, she started leading our Zumba classes that take place every Tuesday. Amelia sees these events as opportunities to get to know her fellow coworkers and she has integrated so well it seems like she has been here a lot longer than just a year. Her interest and enthusiasm are just what we love to see and complement our company culture perfectly.

Outside of work you can find Amelia flexing those muscles gained in the McClure gym while rock climbing or trying to convince others to rock climb with her. She also loves thrifting for clothes, home décor, and potential comic con cosplay costumes. And once she finishes watching Adventure Time, perhaps she will take up Marketing Coordinator Rohan’s suggestion to dive into Invader Zim. Endless opportunities for cosplay await her with that animated gem!
