The Power of Lean In Circles in the Workplace

McClure Engineering’s Lean In Circles are building connection, confidence, and community for women in the workplace.

McClure Engineering first announced our new Lean In Circles initiative at our Spring Women’s Lunch with the goal of creating a space for connection, growth, and honest conversation for our women employees.

This small peer group will give our women employees a place to:

  • Share real challenges and experiences
  • Build meaningful support networks
  • Hold each other accountable for growth goals
  • Learn from different perspectives
  • Practice leadership, confidence, and communication

Our first circle was hosted by Talent Experience Manager Ashley Senters at the beginning of June and Ashley crafted a perfect introductory session by having the group answer self-reflective questions via a festive beach ball tossed around the table. These questions not only gave us insight into each other but initiated thoughtful conversations about navigating the workplace as women.

In industries where women may be underrepresented like the STEM community, Lean In circles can be especially powerful, creating a sense of belonging and helping women feel seen, heard, and supported.

When women support women, amazing things happen. Stronger leaders are born, better collaboration is achieved, and a more inclusive culture overall is formed, which is something McClure Engineering has always been passionate about.

McClure Engineering is committed to continued Lean In Circles and providing other resources to help lift women up. Stay tuned to see what we have in store!
