Pere Marquette Endurance Trail Run

McClure Engineering’s Annual Commitment to Health and Company Culture.

On Saturday, December 13, 2025, McClure Engineering reached a big milestone: our 20th year participating in the famous Pere Marquette Endurance Trail Run. This year, the race celebrated its 36th anniversary, and as always, we tackled a tough 7.8-mile course through the beautiful hills and rough trails of Pere Marquette State Park. Every December, we prepare for whatever the weather brings, whether that means rain, sleet, snow, ice, mud, or, as it happened this year, some seriously cold temperatures. It is always a true test of determination and adventure.

For us, the race is about so much more than just crossing the finish line. Since 2005, McClure Engineering has encouraged employees to join in, helping to build team spirit while making health and wellness a top priority. The day kicks off with packet pickup and a hot cup of coffee by the lodge’s crackling fire, which is a great way to get ready for a day filled with teamwork and determination. Racers start off in small groups that are matched to keep things fair and exciting. After the race, everyone heads inside to enjoy some well-deserved food, awards, and good times by the fire.

The Pere Marquette run is special for us because it happens on the same day as our Holiday Party. The day is packed with opportunities to hang out with coworkers, enjoy a little friendly competition, and celebrate another year together. It is a tradition that reminds us how important it is to support each other, both on the trails and in the office, while keeping an active and healthy lifestyle as a central part of our company culture.

We were especially excited to cheer on Keith Cooper and Leslie Cowger, who both earned first place in their age groups. Their wins really show the kind of determination and excellence we strive for every day.

For everyone at McClure Engineering, the Pere Marquette Endurance Trail Run is much more than just a race. It proves our ongoing commitment to staying healthy, working together, and keeping our company culture vibrant and strong.
