2024 Healthiest Employers of St. Louis Winner

McClure Engineering is proud to announce we ranked 2nd on the Healthiest Employers list for 2024 in the 2-199 employees category.

We’re thrilled to share that we clinched second place in the 2024 Healthiest Employers Awards within the 2-99 Employees category!

The Healthiest Employers Awards spotlight organizations that champion employee well-being and nurture a culture of health. Our unwavering commitment to our team’s wellness aligns seamlessly with these accolades. It’s our goal not only to bolster our team’s physical health but also to foster an all-encompassing sense of well-being.

At McClure Engineering, fostering health and wellness is integral to our mission. We’ve introduced various initiatives to showcase our commitment. For instance, we have an onsite gym to encourage daily exercise. Annually, we involve our employees in engaging activities like step contests, hydration challenges, and even friendly weight loss competitions aimed at promoting healthy living habits.

However, physical health isn’t our only priority; the mental well-being of our staff is equally important. Our approach transcends conventional practices because we believe that true job satisfaction comes from moments of relaxation and camaraderie. To this end, we organize enjoyable events like refreshing float trips and energetic summer gatherings. We also boast our own softball team and have recently added a volleyball team to our lineup. Moreover, it’s not just about the off-hours fun; we ensure workday stress relief with measures like bi-monthly onsite massages and Happy Hours. Adding to the festive spirit, we host holiday games such as our Halloween Scavenger Hunt and Mini Golf tournaments.

Our wellness committee goes above and beyond to ensure our programs and activities are inclusive to all employees from both a physical and mental wellbeing standpoint. Our employees are encouraged to participate in a variety of wellness programs such as our Cardio Club, Nothing but Nutrition group, softball league, and new this year, The McClure Olympics with both mind and physical challenges. – Jamie Johnson, Chief Operating Officer

We believe in flexible work schedules to create a healthy blend of professional and personal life. Last year, we introduced our annual “Holiday Break,” granting employees paid time off for the week between Christmas and New Year’s. This way, they can enjoy family time without dipping into their vacation days. Kicking off the New Year, we will merge vacation and sick leave, allowing employees more flexibility in taking the necessary time off.

Recognizing mental health as fundamental to overall wellness, we proudly provide our team with discreet access to an Employee Assistance Program. This service offers professional support for personal challenges employees may face. Additionally, understanding the importance of family, we provide generous parental leave to support our employees during critical life stages.

By embracing a holistic approach to health, we are steadfast in our belief that our workforce should experience both physical vigor and mental tranquility. Our journey towards fostering a healthier workplace is ongoing, and we deeply appreciate the recognition from the Healthiest Employers Awards. This honor only strengthens our resolve to create an environment where every team member can flourish.
