Business Continuity Regional Recovery Site
Federal Reserve Bank – St. Louis, Missouri
This project consisted of the MEP design of a 22,100 sq. ft. facility to serve as a complete “cold site” facility for 300 personnel of the St. Louis Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank.
Designed as a stand-alone capable facility, the building has full emergency electrical backup through a 500kW emergency generator. A diesel storage tank provides sufficient fuel to maintain generator and boiler fuel needs for 7 days of operation without refueling. The facility also houses a 1,250 square foot data center supported by an 80kVA UPS with 15 minutes of ride-through capability. Branch power is distributed to the server racks via 100A 3-phase busway installed above each row of racks. Provisions for an additional 500kW generator are incorporated into the electrical design, as the building’s electrical system is designed to accommodate the current facility, as well as a future 28,000 square foot addition, while also providing 2N electrical service to the data center space.
