Mr. Knudten is a Principal at McClure Engineering and has focused on commissioning services, including field observation and testing, troubleshooting, validation, remediation and coordination with design and construction professionals. Commissioning project experience includes third party commissioning, LEED Fundamental and Enhanced commissioning, retrocommissioning and projects on which McClure was the engineer of record. Since becoming a Principal at McClure, Mr. Knudten has continued to develop the commissioning services provided throughout the firm’s history. Mr. Knudten also performs design engineering, primarily in retrofit and remediation projects.

Prior to joining McClure Engineering, Mr. Knudten worked at a mid-Missouri design engineering firm where his experience included design and analysis of HVAC systems, project and construction management, testing and balancing services, system troubleshooting and energy modeling. He also worked at the local St. Louis branch of nationally distributed temperature controls contractor where he designed, programmed and commissioned control systems.

I find projects that are specific, unusual, and difficult the most satisfying to work on. The type of project that will not be solved entirely by a spreadsheet at a desk, but also requires taking measurements in the field and analyzing mass volumes of performance data. Fortunately, those projects are encouraged here at McClure Engineering, as they have been a mainstay of our portfolio throughout our firm’s history. My team continually impresses me with their creativity and willingness to tackle these challenges and encourages me to continue finding opportunities to showcase their talents.
